Things are going so good!!!
Alex made it to Utah safe and sound, thank goodness. After a very long lay over flight in LA (oh, about 7 hours..Thanks Army!), he finally landed in SLC. My Dad and I went to pick him up from the airport. I think my Dad was more excited than I was! After we got all of his bags, we took him to Golden Corral for his "Welcome Back to Civilian World Dinner". It was his request, so who could deny him??
It's been about 2 weeks since he got here and things are going so well! Our tiny little apartment feels like home now that he's here. We are still missing quite a bit of stuff (set to be here next month!), but we're getting by just fine. He's met my Dad (obviously) and my baby sister, as well as my best friends, Ashley and Craig. All of us get along so well, and it's so nice to have stuff to do out here. He also met my extended family (close family friends through my Dad), and they all loved him. I love that feeling...Being proud of the man you're with is amazing! One of those close family friends actually recommended a job to Alex. And.....
HE GOT IT!!!!
I am so proud of him! He interviewed well (panel interview, I might add!) and all 5 interviewers picked him! He was offered the job on Thursday and does his orientation on Monday. Go him! It's such a great job. He will be a Maintenance Engineer at Primary Children's Hospital. He makes GOOD money and has awesome benefits. Speaking of benefits..
I GOT MY OLD JOB BACK!!!
I will be working at Select Health again in the enrollment department. Select Health and Primary Children's are all under IHC, so both of us have amazing jobs, with amazing benefits. I seriously feel so blessed!
I have been a ball of stress when it comes to jobs lately. It's been really hard considering that we might not have work, income, etc. It has been such a huge stress relief with both of us getting job offers, and making more than enough money to live on, which is excellent. Our hopes of paying off our last little bit of debt is now going to happen! I am so happy, I could probably scream with delight ha ha. I am so proud of Alex and proud of myself too. We work great as a team, and it's so nice that both of us are willing and able to work to provide for our little family. Things are definitely looking up, and I love it.
We were supposed to be picking up Alex's son tomorrow (Saturday), but due to a certain someone's cancellation, it's now been moved to Sunday. Sucks that we have to wait one more day, but so happy this weekend has finally come! I'm so grateful that I get to be a part of this little guys life (and Alex's too, of course). I'm also grateful for having a great "extended family" that is willing to watch him while both of us are at work, which has also been a nice stress relief.
This week has been an amazing week! Off to BBQ with my besties...Here's to many more amazing weeks!!
