I have the feeling I'm going to be one of those annoying blog people who get on everyday or every night to update this. I can't help myself. I always liked keeping a journal and writing, so blogging has simply replaced that. It's a new obsession!
Speaking of new obsessions...Alex got a Nintendo DS with Pokemon (I still don't understand that crap!) and Super Mario Bros. I must say, it's awesome! Not the Pokemon...The Super Mario Bros. I remember playing Super Mario Bros on the old Nintendos. You know, the gaming system that never got the "Red Ring of Death" or had to be sent back into the manufacturer to have parts replaced or a new one sent out. Oh noooo...I'm talking about the gaming system where the quick fix was to blow air from your mouth into the slot the game went in, blowing on the game, and slamming the game into the slot. Maybe wiggling the game back and forth a bit. Never failed. Worked like a charm. Anyway, back to the Nintendo DS. Alex has been playing his Pokemon since he got it. Something about leveling up the Pokemon characters? Who knows. Well today, I decided I wanted to join the "Cool Kids Club" (his buddy Shawn also got a Nintendo DS, and they both play together...Hhhhmmm) so I began to play Super Mario Bros. I don't remember that game being THAT HARD! It was so much fun though. The type of fun I remember having as a kid with my old school Nintendo. Ha ha. Along with the fun, came my adult "frustration" at not being as great as I was when I was a kid (or at least I think I was) and not being able to handle the horrible feeling when the blue letters moved down the top of the screen announcing that I suck...GAME OVER. Oh the joys of childhood. :) Needless to say, I believe a Nintendo DS purchase is in my near future. To rationalize with the kid in me, I opted to buy not only Mario Bros, but those cool Brain Games too. I figured I would feel a little bit better about being such a sell out for the Nintendo DS.
Other than my lovely adventure with the DS, I have been hanging around all day. Keeping Alex fed and medicated. His mouth seems to be doing a little better. He ends up sleeping on the side where he actually got stitches, so waking up in the morning has been miserable for him. He ate some rice and chicken today, and it seemed to go easily...Aside for him having to open his mouth in awkward ways and dropping food all over himself...But hey!!! It's better than crying hysterically after coming out of anesthesia because someone wants a milkshake, or throwing up all over the living room floor because they refused to eat anything with their STRONG pain medication (Yes...I'm a drama queen!). He's a good sport. He's also great entertainment ha ha.
Easter is tomorrow. I really want to dye some eggs, but no one really eats hard boiled eggs. Maybe I'll dye some and go give them to the neighbors or something. Whatever the case, I just want to have a nice relaxing Easter Sunday. One that involves some yummy breakfast and more movies. I'm sure going to miss my mom's Easter ham brunch. :( I'm really glad that this Easter is going to be a good one for so many of my loved ones. Mom, TroyDad, and Boo get to have some great brunch together. My brother seemed a little disappointed that my Mom didn't feel the need to get his 14 year old butt an Easter basket. Ha ha. My Dad will most likely be spending time at home. I hope he has some company over, but at the same time, I know my Dad likes his "space". He needs a girlfriend! My sister will most likely be at her mom's, spending time with her brand new baby sister, Sophia. Mal and Thayn get to spend Easter in each others physical presence for the first time (I think it's the first time, anyway!!), Jen and Mike get to celebrate this Easter after Mike's long time spent in NTC, Ash and Craig are spending the holiday in their cute new home, Kasara and Mat are spending this year in warm Arizona in their new apartment, and as for me? I finally fit in with all my "couple" friends! I'll be spending it with Alex. It feels nice. Now if only I was closer to home to see EVERYONE.....
Well, I'm starting to get a computer induced headache. I'm sure I'll be on here updating tomorrow. Or at least sometime soon.
Goodnight everyone and have a great Easter Sunday!
